The simple joy of iterating

I've spent down-time moments this week playing with my sites. This one and Bold Wise. It suddenly struck me that I'm free to play with these, to test out ideas, explore techniques, think and re-think things. And thats just what I've been doing.

The changes here are subtle. Some re-wordings for clarity, a few behind the scenes quality of life improvements, and I've also built in schema data to let non-human visitors (bots, not aliens as far as I'm aware) better understand things.

With Bold Wise I've been more dramatic. I realised my explanation of what I do was a little fluffy and vague. I also noted that the technical teams I work with have very different needs and expectations to the founders and leadership teams. I think the reworked site captures this well and is finally somewhere i can point people who ask 'just what is it that you do?'

It's been fun to work on these updates as a run of tweaks as and when I had time. What's more, the process has generated a long list of ideas for the future.

I'm logging this here as a reminder to myself that these runs of little, frequent nudges are just as useful and valid as the big, structured pieces.
